Vera Velvet Jacket

I love my new jacket and have received many compliments. Bright red suits my winter colouring. However, it was quite boxy. I have and have always had a straight up and down shape no matter what weight. I decided, as I am handy with a needle to give myself a “pretend” waist by taking the sides in a bit and give it little shape. I also took in the sleeves a little bit. This is normal for me to play around with items because of my shape. For those with a “proper” shape, ie going in at the waist (no matter what size),no alterations needed. Will look lovely as is. I do love the jacket!

I really wanted to love this jacket, it would have been perfect for wearing to all the seasonal festivities. Sadly it is going back as I find the quality very poor. The velvet is very dull and looks more like denim. Not good value for money. I have to agree with the previous reviewer. Sorry Kettlewell, I don't feel this is one of your best.

True to size and a good comfortable fit. Unusually for me, I am giving Kettlewell only 2 stars for 'value' of this product. I tried the poppy red hoping for a casual partywear jacket to elevate a pair of jeans for pub trips around Christmas. However, I found the fabric to be uninspiring and not at all 'plush' or party looking. Hence, I was left wondering when (or if) I would wear it as it didn't work for me as a going out jacket. I rate their Rachel jackets very highly and the Roxy was a good jacket too but sadly not this one for the high price tag. I'll be interested to read other customer reviews. Sorry Kettlewell.
